The Salish Sea region is a network of inland coastal waters that include the Straight of Juan de Fuca, Puget Sound, and the Straight of Georgia. It is the home of the coast Salish People, located between the mainland of the province of British Columbia, Vancouver Island, and Washington State. This area is home to a diverse array of local wildlife that are under threat due to over fishing and shipping.
I partnered with the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, a not-for-profit aquarium dedicated to educating and informing the public about the Salish Sea region to aid in conservation and advocacy efforts, located in Sidney. The Salish Sea Centre was interested in engaging their volunteers and the public with pieces that would inspire a love for the Salish Sea with pin-buttons of animals that live within their facility.
The buttons are now for sale at the Salish Sea Store, the gift shop section of the aquarium.
